The company is committed to its advocacy of the circular economy by sourcing locally produced fruits, vegetables, herbs, dairy, and other products for their culinary operations, and repurposing food waste into organic compost to regenerate nature.
This initiative supports hundreds of farmers in Negros island.
The SM Group has also extended support to these farmers through knowledge transfer and market access, like the ‘Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan’ training program of SM Foundation and the weekend markets organized by its SM malls.
