Also present during the symbolic vaccination were Assistant Secretary Rachel Queenie Rodulfo of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, Director James Fadrilan of DILG Region I, and Assistant Regional Director Mar Wynn Bello of the Department of Health Region I.
Ilocos Norte received 462 doses from the national government. More than 10 senior healthcare workers from government-managed hospitals were inoculated with the said vaccines.
Speaking at the event, Gov. Marcos Manotoc said:
“Though we see the light at the end of the tunnel and though this may be the beginning of the end of this pandemic, may we not tire of all our safety protocols and the caution and the discipline that has brought us here to being one of the safest provinces in the entire Philippines-something that we can all be proud of.”
“Sa lahat po ng mga frontliners sa health workers, sa PNP, sa BHERTs, everyone at the borders and COVID-19 facilities, taos puso po akong nagpapasalamat. We are safe because of you and we will continue to be cautious in honor and appreciation of you,”he ended.
